Closing date for applications for day courses is August 20th 2010. Application will not be processed after this date except for Repeat Leaving Certificate Course applicants. Interviews to be held from 31th August to 8th September, 2010.

International Students from Non E.U. Countries (currently Resident in Ireland)

Irish Resident Students

  • Completed application forms must to be returned to the college by the Friday 20th August 2010.
  • Students who apply to the college after the closing date for applications will only have their applications processed if there are places available on the course of their choice.
  • Applicants will be invited to attend the college for a compulsory English language assessment. Applicants who have already obtained an internationally recognised language qualification namely I.E.L.T.S. or the Certificate in Proficiency offered by Cambridge will be required to submit a copy of their certification.
    Those with an I.E.L.T.S qualification should have achieved an overall score of at least 6 and have passed all modules including:
    • Listening
    • Academic Reading
    • Academic Writing
    • Speaking
  • Students who have successfully completed the Irish Leaving Certificate or an Irish Further Education Course are exempt from the language test.
  • International Students from Non -E.U. countries, with the exception of applicants who have special leave to remain in Ireland are obliged to pay a Department of Education fee of €3,653 plus the relevant course fees. This fee does not include the cost of text books or exam fees.
  • Applicants who fulfill all of the above criteria i.e.
    • have fulfilled the language criteria.
    • have been offered a college place.
    • have paid the full fee.
    will be provided with a letter from the college to assist with the application for a student visa.
  • Visa applicants should note that visas will only be granted to students who study a course listed on the Department of Education & Science website www.education.ie under the link Internationalisation Register. Applicants should consult this website and check the Cork College of Commerce courses listed on the Internationalisation Register – List of Approved Courses.
  • It is the responsibility of the prospective student to deal with the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform. Under no circumstances will the college become involved in this process.
  • Students who are granted a student visa must provide the college with a copy of this documentation.
  • Student’s who do not succeed in acquiring a visa, are entitled to a refund.
  • Those requiring a refund must produce the receipt issued by the college as proof of the fee paid.
