Instructions for Examination Candidates. Candidates are obliged to familiarise themselves with the following instructions.
REGULATIONS
Learners must familiarise themselves with the following college documents:
The relevant Student Information Handbook.
Appeals Procedures.
The regulations and procedures set out here.
In particular, candidates must be familiar with any relevant:
Assessment schedule for the particular programme.
Penalties for work submitted late.
Procedures for seeking an extension due to mitigating circumstances.
Assessment criteria used to mark submitted work.
Guidelines for referencing and acknowledging work.
LEARNER RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates must:
Ensure that they are correctly registered onprogrammes
Ensure that they are correctly entered for examinations
Attend examinations, class tests, practicals etc
Complete all continuous assessment work as required
Immediately notify the Course Director (or his/her nominee) and/or class teacher in writing of reasons for absence from class tests, practicals etc. (supplying relevant documentary evidence)
Immediately notify the Course Director (or his/her nominee) in writing of extenuating circumstances that have impeded their examination/assessment performance and fully complete the mitigating Circumstances form.
Comply with any course and College requirements for receipting work
Retain a copy of submitted work where possible.
Retain any receipts for submitted work.
It is the responsibility of candidates to check the date, time and venue for each of their examinations. Candidates are also advised to check their relevant course notice board and general examinations notice board for any special notifications relating to examinations.
Any candidate who fails to attend for any examination is required to send a written explanation to the relevant Course Director immediately. A medical certificate must be supplied in addition to the explanation if the absence was due to illness.
EXAMINATION ATTENDANCE
Examination candidates should assemble at least 15 minutes before the examination starts.
No candidate may enter the examination hall 30 minutes after the examination has started without permission from theexamination supervisor. Late candidates must complete the late entrance form.
Extra time will not normally be allowed to a student who arrives late.
Candidates must sit at the desk allocated to them or to their group by the supervisors.
Candidates must sign the Attendance Record Register.
Candidates must comply with any requests, or instructions fromsupervisors.
EXAMINATION MATERIALS
Candidates must equip themselves with the materials required, i.e. pens,rulers, approved calculators, etc. as appropriate for each examination.
Candidates are responsible forensuring that calculators, etc. are in working order.
Candidates will not be permitted to borrow materials from other candidates.
